DNA / ADN

Although it is the ultimate biometrics (excepted for twins!) as everyone has DNA, this is not considered as a biometric technology because it is not yet fully automated (and fast).

Malgré que ce soit la biométrie ultime (sauf pour différencier des vrais jumeaux) car tout monde a son propre ADN, ce n'est pas considéré comme une technologie biométrique car elle est loin d'être automatisée (et rapide).

DNA from suspects 1 and 2 are compared to DNA extracted from semen evidence. You can see in this sample that suspect 1 and the sperm DNA found at the scene match. Suspect 2 has a profile totally different from the semen sample. DNA isolated from the victim as well as a human DNA (K562) that serves as a standard size reference are included as controls.

L'ADN des suspects 1 et 2 sont comparés à l'ADN extrait du sperme à identifier. On voit que l'échantillon du suspect 1 et de la pièce à conviction sont identiques. L'ADN de la victime ainsi que l'ADN humain (K562) qui servent de référence sont inclus à titre de contrôle.

    (March 2004) Ulrich Bockelmann and colleagues at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris measured the intrinsic charge of DNA molecules with an array of silicon transistors, which allowed them to avoid the markers and labels used in conventional detection techniques.
