Handwriting / Signature

Handwriting recognition, or signature recognition also called Dynamic Signature Verification (DSV) analyses the way a user signs. The signing features such as speed, velocity and pressure exerted by a hand holding a pen are as important as the static shape of the finished signature.

Required material starts from a simple scanner (in this case, speed & pressure are not available and the recognition accuracy decreases) to the tablet, a video camera, a pen containing sensors or using ultrasonic sensing.

Comparaison entre deux signatures

Les caractéristiques telles que la vitesse, vélocité et pression exercées par la main tenant le stylo sont aussi importantes que le dessin de la signature.

Le matériel utilisé pour capturer la signature peut aller du simple scanner (auquel cas les information de vitesse et de pression ne sont pas disponibles et la reconnaissance est moins efficace) à la tablette, la caméra, au stylo muni de capteurs pouvant utiliser des techniques ultrasoniques.

(2006) [www.signassured.com] SignAssured proposed SignHear, where recognition is performed by listening to the sound produced when signing.


Graphic password

(2006) Applied Neural Technologies (ANT) proposed a graphic password, called [www.sign4sure.com (dead link)] Sign4Sure. You have to draw over a known image a secret graphic: the way you are making your drawing combined with the location makes the password.

Also proposed to sign with the mouse (which is already proposed).
